Exhibition for Christian Palmer

Lily Agius Gallery will present a collection of paintings and limited edition prints by CHRISTIAN PALMER (from Australia) at LA BOTTEGA ART BISTRO

Sponsored by FIMBANK, Logographix, Artpaper, La Bottega Art Bistro and The Times of Malta.

CHRISTIAN PALMER is from London and lives and works in Byron Shire in Australia – a place where many artists, writers, musicians, and people looking for an alternative lifestyle reside. He has exhibited extensively in both Europe and Asia including art fairs and solo shows, with his art being collected all around the world.

Most of Palmer’s art involves a play on words and most of his subjects are usually animals. He presents the emotion of the animal he paints with confidence and understanding – their eyes look right back into your soul. “I like to choose animals that have an edge about them, animals that are representative of an outsider. From this perspective, I make sense of my own internal dialogue and the irony of the human condition.”

The artist has been involved with fundraisers for conservation projects collaborating with Australia Zoo Wildlife Warriors as well as ‘Let Elephants Be Elephants’ (LEBE) working to stop the ivory trade.

“Christian Palmer’s work is a collision between the confines of an establishment fine art background (Central Saint Martins, London) and the pull of the urban contemporary street art movement with its unrestricted communication and interaction through public spaces. Palmer’s rise in the global urban art scene kicked off following group exhibitions with street artists including Banksy and T.WAT to name just a few. His work is now exhibited globally.” (Lee Steer, Redsea Gallery)
